Roulette is a fascinating game with an age-old history of experts with their winning formulas that soon went by the way side.   Roulette is a simplistic game of chance. We should view the predetermined outcomes as entertainment with small advantage going to the casino.  The object is to bet on what winning number will be selected, ranging from 1-36 with a 0 and 00 numbers also available.

In some casinos, the Roulette tables have only 0 and 1-36.  A spinning horizontal wheel and a small white ball dropped on the wheel are the complete game. What number the white ball comes to rest determines outcome payoffs. That is the entire game!

Obviously the payoff percentages are better when playing a Roulette game that contains only a 0 and not a 0 and 00.  Usually single 0 games will have a much higher minimum bet than the common 0 and 00 Roulette games.

The numbers arranged on the wheel at first glance might five the resemblance of items placed in random order.   Actually, they have arranged the numbers alternately, red and black colors.

Players buy into the game and establish what each chip value will be for them. They give each player a different color of blank chips to wager.  These blank chips, no denominations printed on the surfaces, can range in value from pennies to many dollars each.  Using colored chips makes players payoffs easier.  In some countries around the world, they give all players the same color chips although they may represent different denominations.  A pit bosses nightmare waiting to happen if this were the case in the United States.

Players have several options to bet on when playing Roulette. The 36 numbers are color coded, red and black numbers, 18 of each color.  Players can be various bets on colors, odd or even numbers, and a variety of blocks of numbers.   Following chart shows all the possible payoffs of a 0 and 00 Roulette game.
