During a cocktail party this week I was told a story I have heard before but this time it seems more real. The story is about an investor who likes animals and wants to build a world class zoo in Las Vegas. The representative for this mega wealthy person wants to ask our Readers if they would support by attending a world class zoo in Las Vegas if it were constructed? We want to hear from you. What is your opinion? (See other Readers’ opinions below.)

This sounds like a terrible idea and what do you do with the animals in the summer heat? Amy Chu Los Angeles, CA

I have heard this story before and I still dont think someone is crazy enough to try making a huge zoo work in Las Vegas. Barry Davis Calgary Canada

Sounds like a good idea to me. Hopefully they build it right. Gina Cline Florida

if its going to be built like the zoos in washington d.c. or the san deigo zoo i would attend (if the price was reasonable) so go ahead and build it. charles porcello richmond va.

Yes, we move here from a small town of 40,000 which supported an awesome zoo. The zoo was well attended by the locals and another place visitors stopped on their way a White Sands State Park. They offered a play ground under shade, picnic tables, and rotating exhibits to make your trips to the zoo fresh and inviting year around. Lisa Rance Las Vegas NV

o thank you. I can go to zoos at many other cities in the country. When I come to Vegas it is to do something I can't do at other places. There isn't time to visit a zoo, nor would I have any desire to do so. Cindy Windsor, CO

No zzoo interest for me, that is not why i vist las vegas. T Brown Chicago, IL

Of course we would attend. Every major city needs a zoo, but at what cost. Are you going to charge $20 to get inside? You need to keep the cost down so a family of 4 don't have to take out a loan to spend the day at the zoo. $4 for kids and seniors and $7 for adults. Anymore than that I would not attend and neither would the citizens, so don't waist your time and money! Jeffrey Snyder Las Vegas

My concern is two fold, heat and cost. If you build a worldclass zoo it would be large and the cost to air condition such a facility would obviously be passed on to the attendees, making the second part of my concern the overall cost. I see no way to have the zoo without air conditioning to allow the animals to survive the summer heat. Daniel M. houston TX

Absolutely. I live in Phoenix Az. and use to have a house in Las Vegas as well but sold it and this would be a great reason to come back for a visit. Robert Painter Phoenix, AZ

I think it would be good if somehow you could win points in the casino and trade them for admission. Bonnie Salt Lake Ctiy, UT
