Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type

#1. With the deplorable terrorism act that occurred in New York, do you feel the casinos in Las Vegas have enough security? Basically, do you feel safe in the casinos? Why or Why not?

*  The staff at a casino would have no ability to prevent a disaster like the World Trade Center terrorism.  Airport security has been 'declawed' as airports try to satisfy the travelers about delays and inconvenience.  It is the responsibility of the traveler to accept genuine efforts at safety with as much grace and understanding as possible.  In the casinos, I have always believed the security is watchful and capable.   Jo Durr

*  I feel safe on the casino floor. However, there seems to be very little security in the rooms. Basically, we have very little problem with that as it's the same all over the country. My only problem with safety would be that Las Vegas would be a typical terrorist target because of the number of people present, the waste and excess that is flaunted and the sinful exploitation of women. Our terrorists come from a culture where this is prohibited and not tolerated.  Karen V Bujnoski

*  Sometimes I feel uncomfortable with some of the strange people in the casino, then I remember that there are millions of dollars of cash in the casino cage and on the casino floor, so why would anyone want to bother me.  Lynn  ID.

*  I would prefer to see more security for the hotel rooms, like there is in Atlantic City.  H. Mills  NY

*  No need to change, I have never seen a problem in a casino that was not handled in a quick, polite and professional manner.  Helen  G.  GA
