Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type

#1. "When you make your Las Vegas reservations, (hotel, air, rental car) do you use a travel agent, online booking, corporate travel, call yourself or ?   Why?

The last 2 trips to Vegas, I did my research on-line and through a travel agent. I found the exact same deal on-line as the travel agent came up with. Guess what. I saved $50.00 per person on-line. The last trip, we had 14 people, that's a $700.00 savings!!! Simply saving money is not the only reason for booking on-line. Being able to search at my own leisure is of great benefit. But I always do my research with local travel agents after spending time on-line.  Francis Schultz"

*  My wife and I use a travel agent after we have checked internet specials for air; also have called several casinos direct...especially the one we wish to stay at. We then call our travel agent to get a quote on our trip. In the past several years, our agent has been able to provide all the arrangements either @ or below what our private research has yielded. Why? Luck? Do not know, but it has worked for us. Jim & Iris in NY

*  My family and I have used the Insider Viewpoint online hotel reservation system several times and have been very pleased with the price and the rooms we were given.  I stopped using travel agents about a year ago, way to expensive because they get paid on a percentage of the price of the room, so they do not want you to get the lowest price.  Henry  Boston MA

*  Yes my opinion if I was to make reservations I would call myself to find out some stuff and pricing. If I didn't like what i come up with then I would get a travel agent. thanks Lucretia Sallee

*  I research the Internet, travel agencies and individual hotel prices and go with the best deal; it always varies. I've booked trips through travel agents (hotel and air); combined Internet air with direct hotel reservations; Internet air and car rental with direct hotel, etc. I always watch the airfare on the internet; when the prices go down, I begin working on the rest of the package. Lately, it's been more economical to book my own trip through the internet rather than using a travel agent. I enjoy doing this and have had less complications when acting on my own behalf. Friends and family even ask me to make travel arrangements for them, now.   Sharon  High Ridge, MO

*  We don't use a travel agent for our trips to fun city because we always fly on SWA and the agents don't get a good commission so we make our own reservations for hotels and rental cars along with air fare. Don Harrison Albuquerque, NM USA

*  I use my corporate in house travel agency and to be very honest it is a real pain in the butt.  It is hard to use and takes forever.  I usually end up calling the airlines and hotels myself and then telling my corporate people what to look for.  Howard K.  Chicago, IL

*  I have searched for a couple years to find the best place to make my reservations and it is the Insider Viewpoint web site.  Your information has always been accurate and the price is always the best.  Keep up the good work.  Lawrence  T.  TX

*  I use a combination of your web site and my local travel agent.  I have found it really pays to check your web site.  Connie  WA

*  When coming to Vegas I use online sources.  Carl  AZ

*  We go to Vegas so often that I do all the reservations, they never change from the airlines or hotel we use.  Marge  MI
