It may not be swimming pool weather for everyone, but in Las Vegas the pool season opens today, March 15. Each year the pool activities continue to grow and that means the millions of dollars spent building these summertime fun spots are paying off by attracting thousands of customers weekly. Las Vegas has all types of swimming pools, including adult clothing optional, and this week Reader poll question asks, do you select a casino to stay at in Las Vegas by the type of pool they have to offer?  Why or Why not?  What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!

I have lost the swimming pool body years ago, but that still gives me the opportunity to watch.  Barbara Sawyer MA

I think what type of pool a casino has plays a small part in my selection.  Glen T.

For me living in the northeast, going to vegas and enjoying a pool is about half my fun of the trip.  Yes, a pool and the ammenities it offers is very important to where I stay.  Darrin K.  New York

My wife and I are heading to Vegas at the end of April to celebrate my her birthday, and we will be staying at the Golden Nugget for three reasons. 1, the price is great for an excellent room. 2, Fremont Street Experience. 3, the Tank! It's the #8 pool in the world, and #2 in the states! And you'll Never beat the price! I plan to wear out at least two swimming trunks on the slide, and I'm 62! And before you ask, I'll Never tell that it's my wife's 60th birthd... Oops. Never mind... Peter Bortz   Westphalia, Indiana

Yes we look at the pool. In 7/09 we specifically choose Excalibur based on the pool/cabana rates becasue we brought our 5 year old son. In 5/10 we will be staying at either the Rio or Mandalay Bay. The RIO mostly becasue of the beach and maybe MB becasue of the adult/clothing optional pool. Too bad RIO closed thier topless pool due to the affiliatioon/problems with Saphire running the pool. Never invite a strip club into a hotel.  KL   Idaho Falls Idaho

I love the swimming pools at Mirage, Monte Carlo, and TI. They are relaxing and fun!  Albert Johnston  Dover, NH

too much to do in LV we don't hang around the pool,we can do that at home when you are in LV can't stand still that long.  Marilyn K Daratany  Erie,Pa

The pool is not important to us, we are always too busy to enjoy it.  Kyle Lalonde Windsor Ontario Canada

I do not pick the place we stay based on the pool. The main reason being we Usually go Early spring or late fall, to cool to swim. We Did go during warmer weather once before and the only consideration was If there was a pool. I Do very much enjoy looking at any though & if the decision came down to the pool choices, other things equal, the one with
the best pool would win.  Eddie Schulz  Urbana, OH

The pool was our primary factor in selecting a hotel to stay at while in Las Vegas once (out of the more than eight times we have visited Las Vegas). We had heard about the wave pool at The Mandalay Bay so we chose The Hotel for our stay. The wave pool was great. The Hotel was one of the best hotel choices we have made and highly recommend it. We try to stay at a different hotel each visit to Las Vegas. We visit Las Vegas for the shows, gambling, and the spectacular resorts. We com   James Wolf  Sheboygan, Wi

Definately pick hotel based on pool and its proxciminty to rooms and if it gets sun. Dale Giffin  Canfield, Ohio

We don't choose our hotel by the pool selection. Our choice depends on price & quality of the hotel.  Sandra Dafoe Belleville/Ontario  Canada

One of the main factors I use in choosing a hotel is the pool. My Vegas trips now have to include the children since I no longer have someone to watch them for the week. The pool becomes very important as the bigger, better, fancier it is will effect how long my wife and kids will stay at the pool... Allowing me more time to participate in the true Vegas experience. As an added benefit if the pool is exciting enough it exhausts the kids allowing my wife and I some time "alone."  Corey M. Carpenter  Metter, GA
