As mentioned in this week’s IVLV Email Newsletter, the Sinatra Family had an idea to supply the Smithsonian Museum will quantities of Frank Sinatra memorabilia and the idea was turned down. Since Frank Sinatra played a huge role in the early development of Las Vegas, this week’s Reader Poll asks . . . Do you think someone should build a Frank Sinatra Museum in Las Vegas and would you attend such a museum?   What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!  (see other opinions below)

Reader Poll Replies:

I would like to see Las vegas build that type of museum, it would add a lot of class back to the city.   Wayne  Miami FL

Yes, I would attend a museum of Frank Sinatra's.   Beverly H.   Chicago, IL

Yes, it should be built.  Where, right on the strip between the Wynn and Venetian complexes. The venetian because it is built on the site of Sinatra's Las Vegas home - The Sands. Wynn, because Steve Wynn owes a lot to Sinatra and his memories.
Would I go? Absolutely!   Bill Sheneman   Red Hill , PA

I think it would be good for Vegas.... build it and they will come.  Roger     Detroit MI

Yes, sounds like a good idea    Gloria S

Vegas could always use another museum.   John Schultz  Canada

For my money I would rather go to the mob museum, or maybe that is the same thing.  Gene A.

Sinatra did a lot to help vegas get seen, but not sure we need a museum to pay tribute to him.   Next we will have a bugsey segiel museum.    Dwayne  Indiana

A musuem to "ol blue eyes" would be way cool. His impact on Nevada tourism has been wide reaching. All the performers that people have seen in Vegas across the years in part are a tradition molded by The Chairman of the Board. I think the stories of the Rat Pack's antics would be great entertainment. His ownership of the Cal-Neva. All his connections including the infamous personalities would be wonderful stories to share at the museum. The music, the romances, the mystic. When will it open?   Loren Hacker  Canby, MN

Sure. Build the museum. If you build it, they will come.... Marketing might be an issue since younger gamers lack proper conceptualization of Sinatra, especially his contributions to Vegas. With Vegas regressing toward the role of Sin City, younger gamers, with their disposable income, are the target market. Nonetheless, Sinatra's Rat Pack have enough name recognition to create sufficient operational cash flow for a casino, thus a free museum attaction could generate additional cash flow.  Valerie Mahfood   Groves Texas
