Question:

Cell phone usage continues to increase worldwide. Is it fair to group cell phone usage and texting when it comes to usage in your ca? . Recently the Nevada law makers put into place penalties for using a cell phone while driving. We are not advocating anything that distracts drivers. We are observing for 30+ years people have been using their phone while operating a car in Las Vegas and now with the concern of loss attention to people texting, cell phone usage is now not legal. What is your opinion about using a cell phone for phone usage while operating a car in Las Vegas?  What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!  (See other readers’ opinions below.)

I use my cell phone on speaker when driving, i see nothing wrong with it.  Diana J.  Utah

Using a cell phone for a call is much less a distraction than people that smoke, or eating or having pets in the front seat while driving a car.  Bonnie Edwards

I think the ban on both cell usage and text messing should stay the same.  People driving skills are so bad they need nothing to distract them.  Ted Sanders NYC

I say no one should "text" while driving, as for talking on hands free devices I think that's ok because both hands are free and eyes are on the road  Fran Moore Ontario Canada

Texting is bad, but i have no problem with using a cell phone to make or receive calls.  David Smith  Los Angeles, CA

text use and driving is a bad combination.  I think driving and using a cell phone is not good, but it is no difference than people smoking or eating while driving.  Carla  Houston TX

I think we have many problems in life and I wish that legal authorities would concentrate on serious problems, not whether I use my cell phone while stopped at a traffic light.  Let the police enforce real laws and let this petty crap go.  we live in a technical world and i see no reason why we should work backwards.   Don Smith  Phoenix AZ
