Question:

Because of financial limitations, the Marijuana Policy Project this year will not petition for Nevada to allow voters to determine whether or not to legalize marijuana. Optimistic they will try again in 2014, the Marijuana Policy Project is determined to let the voters decide. This week’s Reader Poll asks the question . . . do you think marijuana should be legalized in Nevada?  Why or Why not?  What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!    ( See other readers opinions below.)

Reader Poll Replies:

The use of marijuana has little to do with me at my age. If someone wants to use that product it is fine with me as long as they dont smoke it in front of me or my family.  Roger Smith  Dallas TX

I am against any legalization of weed.  It leads to no good and I cannot see the benefit for the masses.  Linda A   Atlanta Georgia

Legalize it and then tax the heck out of it like they do with alcohol and tobacco.  This might be one way the govenment raises taxes money without any complaints.  Daniel Sparks  Chicago IL

If tobacco and alcohol are legal and taxed ,why not pot?It would generate an excellant revenue source for schools, libraries, etc. In my opinion ,it is the same as gambling, and the aforementioned "vices",generally harmless, but not for everyone. It seems everyone knows someone who smokes pot,and is fine and keeps their lives together...I think the ones who think they have the most to lose ,will be the casinos, since that would be less money spent in their establishments. (according to them!)   david gonnella portland, OR
