As we mentioned in the IVLV newsletter, Lake Mead is expected to be 13 feet lower in water level over the next year. Rather than waiting until it is to late, do you think it would be wise to start building the multi billion dollar Nevada groundwater pipeline now or wait until the automatic shortage declaration is upon us? What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!(See other readers’ opinions below.)

Great question, do you plan ahead or do you hope mother nature does not give you a few more years of lower lake levels.  No one wants to pay more for anything, but water is a necessity that you cannot live without.  I suggest you start the pipeline now.  David Sawyer, Arizona

I think you should only spend billions if there continues to be a drought over the next few years.  Susan J.  Reno NV

Yes. Start now rather than panicking later. A smoother transition if begun now. Gwen Schaffer  British Columbia Canada

This is an excellent time to start building the pipeline. Borrowing rates are at record lows. There are plenty of people who need the work. And all long-term predictions of weather patterns forecast a future of more dryness and heat. Why wait?   Ashley Adams Boston, MA

Start building it now while Nevada has the financial resources before the economy changes for the worst.  wendy garner henderson nv

Build the pipeline!   Howard Kendall  Indianapolis

start now.  Robert K Leth   Moxee WA

Yes they should build it and build it now.  rob   Calgary Canada

This is a bad idea because of where is the money going to come from?  If they re-allocate how the water is dispursed the Lake can handle several years of drought.  Bonnie C.  Dallas TX
