The famous Las Vegas Strip is getting a huge observatory wheel which is under construction and now three zip lines are planned to be built around the Tropicana and the Strip intersection by year’s end.  This week’s Reader Poll asks, do you think three zip lines will be a good or bad attraction for the south end of the Las Vegas Strip?  What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!    ( See other readers opinions below.)

PLEASE NOTE: The following text entries are the exact words of our readers

Reader Poll Replies:

The ziplines would be a huge attraction.  I m ready, when do they go into operation?  David Thomas Dallas, TX

Zip lines, what is next, high wire acts over the intersections.   Seem there is no end to what a casino checkbook can come up with.  I guess it would be something I would try at least once.  Elaine Johnson  Miami, FL

Zip Lines seems to attract people of all ages.  I plan to use the zip line down town Vegas on my next trip to Vegas this July.  It can only bring people to that area which is what needs to happen.  Everone that visits Vegas does not have the money to stay in the Casinos so any new attration would be welcome by them I believe. Thomas Stapp Conyers / Georgia

The Luxor has always been my favorite MGM property for its value and location. A zip line would be an exciting bonus! Where does the VIP line start? Nick Ogle Knoxville, TN

I would expect nothing less from Vegas! People go to Vegas to do things and see things they never have before. Offering a zip-line will be a great attraction for that part of the strip. Tammy Cole Williamstown United States

Can you just imagine the traffic accidents or at the least mass slow downs as people in cars watch people fly through the air? The best place to be will be on the overpass bridges. You see, the people on the bridge will watch the people in the cars crash together as they watch people in the air who are also looking down at the people crashing their cars... now there's a show! ... and it won't cost the bridge people a dime. Victor   Alliston  Canada

I think it will a great added attraction to this great city!  Especially for some people who do not want to leave the strip to go downtown and wait in long lines to use the only zip line available at this time! Plus the view has got to be fantastic from one of these hotels!
 Linda Lanza   Elmwood Park, Ill.

I think it's a crummy idea. The tram station is too congested now, why mess it up even more. And who wants to ride a zipline in Las Vegas? You have to show up dressed for it.   Al Curtis  Roseville MN

They could be good, just look at the ones on Freemont Street. They seem to be busy all the time. It just depends on how they are set up and how much they charge for a ride. I read that one of them was going to start at the top of the Luxor. I am not sure this would be good idea. Other than that, why not.   chris koch  Ashland, Ohio

Zipping over the Strip traffic anytime day or night would have to be a "rush". Let them try it and see what happens.  Julian Martin Baton Rouge, LA

Huge money maker. Fremont Street was packed with zip line participants when I was there last week. Fremont Experience was packed with people, the Strip is missing out. I stay in Downtown and have no need for the overpriced strip.  Craig Hagel  Prophetstown / IL

Bad Idea......   not spending my money to bake over the strip.  Don Engels   Dallas TX

I think this is going to be great for all the young kids. I know my Daughter, son, nephew & friends have enjoyed the jump at the stratusphere and now with this so close to our hotel will be great. We go every year for 5 days so this just give us something else on the
intineary. Thanks  Margie Holguin   El Paso, Texas

Having seen the zip lines in action on Fremont Street, I think there will be a market for it on the Strip.  Louise Smith  Cowansville, Quebec  Canada

i think that depends on how different they are from all of the others vegas is bulit on bigger and brighter, if this new zip line is higher, longer can do at night then i say go for it. i am going to be in vegas on Sunday for the 2nd time in a year and my daughter is going in may for the 3rd time in a year, we think it is the best place for a vacation for people on a budget or people who can throw money away, so every time you go back to vegas there is always something new to either see or do.  kevin  stony mtn. mb. Canada
