Question:

Las Vegas is all a buzz with all the renewed talk about four different companies all trying to build a new 20,000 seat arena in Las Vegas. That brings us to this week’s multi part Reader Poll question which is . . . First question is, should Las Vegas attempt to build an arena and then look for a professional basketball or hockey team to draw the attendance. The second question is, would you attend the arena events? Last question is what part of the city should the arena be built?  What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!

Reader Poll Replies:

I would attend a nice new arena, but not sure Las Vegas is ready for a professional team.  Alice S.  San Diego.

Does not matter to me, I am not a sports person, but I think it should be built on the south end of the strip so the traffic does not get worse in the congested areas.  Randall  Billings MT

I see no need for an arena of this size, since there are already enough large arenas already built. LasVegas needs to worry about Lake Meade.  Joe Espinoza  O'Fallon, MO

The most importain part of the question, would I attend ,NO. I live in Mo. I come to vegas for what I don't have here. I come to see different things. As far as the other questions, If they have the money spend it. but it sounds kind of dumb to build it, then look for a
team. Where? I'd say west, way west. I think the people who will come just for a game will come from Califorina. might as well put it on their side.  Steve  sedalia,Mo

I would attend a game while in Las Vegas. It would be part of the entertainment package. I think the stadium should be located downtown.  Jessica Lehnert   Bowling Green, Ky

I think Las Vegas should attempt to build the arena to diversify your entertainment. I would not attend the arena events. It should be built in the Lake Las Vegas area. Margaret Russell  Colorado Springs, CO

No arena, just let us small guys win a few jackpots on slots, keep the money you would have spent on the arena.  Dwight  San Diego, CA
