IVLV was asked by a high-ranking person in one of the prominent churches to ask our readers the following . . . If a non denominational church was built within a casino, would you attend services?    WHY or WHY Not?
Reader Poll Replies:

I do not think I would attend a church in a casino, just seems odd to me.  Donna Bellows.  MA

* That would be a great idea.  When in Las Vegas I never can find a church that is close by and it would be ideal to have one in a casino.  Roger T.  NY

* Probably not, I am Catholic and there is a very nice Church set back from the strip near the Royal Hotel. Having said that, I think other faiths should have some place nearby to go for services.  Dan,  Michigan

* No .... I would continue to go to the catholic church.  Gerry

I certainly would not attend a church in a casino no matter what denomination it is. That would by hypocritical - I'm gambling for heaven sake!  Churches do not belong in a casino.  Jacqueline Wilkins

No. I would feel like a hypocrite, gambling, drinking and then attending church service. I might need it but I wouldn't do it.  Lynn Fitzpatrick  Stoney Creek Ontario Canada

* Yes, I would. What a great place to get someone to come to God than in a casino, besides I sometimes have to be in Vegas for my son's basketball tournament games and I would love to have a church to go to in casino. As a matter of fact I would probably continue to stay at that same casino.  Mischell May  Phoenix AZ

Yes, we would definitely attend the services. We are Christians and want to attend church while we are visiting in Las Vegas during July this year. We are not big gamblers, but we do play the slots just for fun. We enjoy the building designs, lights, and site seeing in Las Vegas. I believe it would need to be non-denominational to draw worshipers in, but I also know that a church doctrine is whatever the pastor's seminary training is. Thank you for asking this question.  Sherry Spencer  Punta Gorda, Florida

* Yes, I think it would be very nice to have an in casino, non-denominational church. We were looking for a church a couple of Sundays ago. It would be nice to worship with other congregants. I see nothing wrong with this venue. Pam in NJ

* That does not sound like a good idea for me and my family.  John F,  TX
