For those lucky people who get to visit Las Vegas for New Year this year
will be treated to the old style casino roof top fireworks we enjoyed in
past years. Starting in 2000, the fireworks were set off from the casino
roof tops. Last year the 250,000 Strip visitors were not highly
impressed with the low level fireworks displayed. This year there will
be seven casinos working together to deliver the New Year’s Eve
fireworks from the casino roofs again. The seven casinos to have roof
top fireworks are, Aria at CityCenter, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Planet
Hollywood, Stratosphere, The Venetian and Treasure Island. |

Cannery Casino welcomes legendary Hollywood Icon, James Darren on
Saturday, November 21 at 8p. With his teen idol looks still in tact and
his voice still in top form, James Darren fans are in for a treat.
Tickets are just $19.95. James Darren, a film actor, TV star, singer,
and director is most well known for his role as Moondoggie in the Gidget
movies. In Gidget, Darren sang two songs: the title tune and There's No
Such Thing As the Next Best Thing To Love. Almost without intending to,
he became a recording star. In the early 60's his hits included Goodbye
Cruel World, which became number one in the US, as well as Angel Face,
Conscience, and Her Royal Majesty - every one of which made the Top Ten
List. Darren has been rediscovered by a whole new generation of fans due
to his appearances in the seventh and final season of Star Trek: Deep
Space Nine as Vic Fontaine, a holographic swinging 60's Vegas lounge
singer. He is currently touring the country, once-again singing to
adoring fans. |
