International music sensation and “cuchi-cuchi girl” Charo has signed a
long-term contract to perform her new show, “Charo in Concert: A Musical
Sensation” at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas beginning Friday,
July 10. “I am delighted to be back in Vegas,” says Charo. “This is one
of the places where I started, where I have many friends and have called
home through the years. I want to invite all the fans to come to the
Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas to see my brand new show. It is full of great
music, dancing and lots of comedy. A real Las Vegas experience.” “Charo
in Concert: A Musical Sensation” plays Wednesday thru Monday at 7:30p
and features Charo’s virtuoso Flamenco guitar, accompanied by a full
orchestra performing her biggest hits, complemented by her dancers,
lighting and special effects that make for a thrilling spectacle as only
Las Vegas can offer.

Reggae legends The Wailers will perform at Mandalay Bay Beach Saturday,
August 1. The concert is scheduled to begin at 9:30p with special guest
Tomorrows Bad Seeds. Tickets are priced at $20, not including taxes and
applicable services charges. Together with Bob Marley, The Wailers have
sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide. In England alone, they
have collected more than 20 chart hits, including seven Top 10 hits.
Outside of their groundbreaking work with Marley, The Wailers also have
performed with international acts including Sting, The Fugees, Stevie
Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Alpha Blondy, as well as reggae legends
Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Burning Spear. The Wailers, one of the
greatest living reggae groups, has played to an estimated 24 million
people across the globe. |

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Los Angeles Kings return to Las Vegas
for “Frozen Fury XII” when they host an NHL preseason game against the
Colorado Avalanche Saturday, September 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Game time is scheduled for 7p. Tickets start at $28, not including
applicable service charges and taxes. The Kings enter this year’s
contest with an all-time record of 8-2-2 in 12 previous Frozen Fury
games. |

In an effort to raise funds for cancer survivors and bring awareness to
rehabilitation and wellness programs, a group of Las Vegas country
artists has come together as “Cowboys for Cancer” to perform a benefit
concert on Sunday, June 28 at Club Madrid inside Sunset Station.
Proceeds will benefit Vance Davenport and The Caring Place. “Cowboys for
Cancer” starts at 4p and general admission tickets are $20. All 100% of
the proceeds will be split between the Davenport family and The Caring
Place. VIP booths are available for $150 and seat up to four people. |

Red-hot illusionist/magician Scarlett has successfully carved a unique
niche for herself in a male dominated business. She has mastered some of
the most difficult feats performed by the legendary Harry Houdini and
Harry Blackstone, Jr. Scarlett has conquered the unimaginable by being
handcuffed; feet shackled, dropped upside down and locked in
bone-chilling water in an escape never intended for a woman. Scarlett

A first annual event, The Colors of Lupus Gala being held on June 27 at
the TI-Treasure Island Ballroom will honor nine community leaders whose
support of Lupus has been invaluable. The inaugural fundraising event is
being presented by The Colors of Lupus Nevada, a local nonprofit
community organization dedicated to providing services to Nevadans
infected by the Lupus disease, and the Las Vegas Hispanic Council. The
Colors of Lupus Gala will include a cocktail reception, silent auction,
food-on-foot, dinner, awards ceremony and entertainment. Tickets are
only $50 per person. |

Fremont Street Experience presents the second annual “American Pie 4th
of July” celebration with major headlining entertainment Janis Joplin’s
Original Band Big Brother & The Holding Company on Friday, July 3 and
The Grass Roots on Saturday, July 4. The festivities kick off Friday,
July 3 as “American Pie 4th of July” commemorates Independence Day
weekend from Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5 and highlights
Fremont Street Experience’s Viva Vision show, “Don McLean’s American
Pie.” Headline concerts will feature Janis Joplin’s Original Band Big
Brother & The Holding Company on Friday, July 3 and The Grass Roots on
Saturday, July 4. The weekend-long event will also showcase a brilliant
virtual fireworks show on the Viva Vision canopy, in addition to “Signs
of Life,” the official Viva Vision show by Official Artist of Summer of
’69, John Van Hamersveld. Various downtown hotel-casinos will also be
offering outdoor patios, selling Fourth of July barbeque favorites. |

Following sold-out shows from coast-to-coast earlier this year, the
popular alternative rock and pop rock band, The Killers will hit the
road again in August in support of its third studio album, Day & Age.
The Killers, who began its career together playing small clubs in Las
Vegas, will make a stop at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday,
September 19 with a scheduled show time of 8p. Tickets are priced at

on sale Saturday, June 27 at 10a. |
