COMMANDING OFFICER
The Downtown Area Command is the newest LVMPD area command. The commanding officer assigned to support police
efforts at the Downtown Area Command is Captain William C. Minor.

STAFF
Downtown Area Command is staffed by one hundred forty-two police employees.
One hundred fourteen Police Officers, thirteen sergeants, three lieutenants and three cadets all of whom are supported by eight clerical or service employees and a
Captain make up the Downtown Area Command.
HOURS OF OPERATION - PUBLIC
Office hours open to the public is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Saturday 8a-4p.
The Downtown Area Command offers a range of police services including taking reports and registering pistols.
FACTS
The area is approximately eight square miles with a resident population of about 51,000.
This is the smallest LVMPD area command, both in population and geographically. Resident population is increased by several thousand each day as workers in area business and tourists arrive to work/play within the boundaries.
This area has some of the oldest business and residential areas in the valley and many
hotels and casinos including the Fremont Street Experience.
Downtown Area Command generates approximately 19% of the calls for service received by LVMPD. |
