Year 2003 Good Experiences
I'm glad you asked me about my casino experience because I was just
there in May for the Kentucky Derby and stopped in like I always do when
we go to Las Vegas. My friends and my wife had a great time we had some
drinks at the bar before dinner, I wish I could remember the female
bartenders name she was very friendly and we had a great time. Then we
went to dinner ,I'll put the steaks at Ellis Island at the top of any Las
Vegas best list not as fancy but just as good if not better and the price
cannot be beat. Then we went into the casino an the staff of casino workers
were friendly and made the experience of gambling very nice, I wish I
could say I won but I'm sure your glad I lost. Although my friends and
myself are not high rollers by no means the gambling experience was
most enjoyable and everybody treated us like high rollers. I live in
Chicago an my friends know my wife and I have being going to Las Vegas
since 1971 when we got married and value any tips I give them. The best
tip has been to go to Ellis Island and I've never had a bad report from
anyone going there so Thank+- You . I' ll be going to Las Vegas on
August 18th. with my wife,my two sisters and husbands and my 90 year old
Italian mother who always comes with me an my wife (those Italians love to
gamble). I never ever write E-mail notes I think this note proves that,
but I've enjoyed going to Ellis Island ever since I found about it a few
years ago, I think the reason I like it so much is I'm a blue collar
construction equipment operator plain and simple. Hope to see you when we
come in a couple of weeks to get my money back. Paul

Just wanted to drop you a quick note since I recently completed my
visit to Ellis Island. Actually won $40.00. People were
friendly. Wasn't able to take advantage of my free steak dinner, but
the players club hostess was quite knowledgeable about your contest and
the free dinner. Hope to hear from you around Dec. 25th!) Also
attended the Hypnolarious show at Bourbon Street. It was a
blast. Terry Stokes was very friendly and entertaining. I really
enjoy your newsletter especially since we live in Massachusetts and can't
afford to make frequent trips to Vegas. It is nice to stay informed
and feel on top of things with your information. Keep up the good
work and thanks! Linda Parker
Stayed at Barbary Coast for 5 nights in early October. Loved the
room, but the "view of the Bellagio Fountains" is very
over-rated, as we were never in our room when they were on. Great
place to stay, but didn't gamble there - the casino didn't carry
the machines we really like to play. Loved being in the middle of
the strip, though, and the rooms are VERY easy to get to when you come in
off the street. From all the casinos we visited, I thought the
waitresses at MGM and Rio were the best. They would stop right
beside you and ask if you needed anything, rather than rush through saying
"Cocktails"! I really was impressed with MGM, as I was
asked which name brand Gin I wanted for my gin & tonic (best gin &
tonic ever!). As far as winning, we didn't do much of that -
just enough to "keep us going" without losing TOO much. Ate
at some great buffets while there - Rio, Sam's Town, Aladdin, Treasure
Island. The "after 11:00 p.m." steak and eggs at the
Flamingo for $5.99 was also excellent, as was the Prime Rib at the
California, downtown. We had our car, so getting around wasn't a
problem. Spent time downtown (really enjoyed the Fremont Street
Experience), and took the trolley from downtown to the new Premium Outlets
Mall. We really like to shop, so enjoyed the mall immensely.
Also visited Belz Outlets and was even MORE pleased. Overall,
had a great trip! Sue - Nebraska
My wife and I recently spent a week in Las Vegas. We
stayed at the Four Queens. This was probably the best trip we've had to
Vegas. Downtown has so much to offer. The strip is okay if you haven't
seen it and are willing to walk miles and miles through millions of
people. Most of our time was spent right downtown playing at the Queens,
Fitzgerald's, Main Station, and Nugget. Also visited all other casinos
downtown to a small extent. Ate late night/early morning breakfast at Binion's basement restaurant. Great price and food was edible. The Four
Queens was outstanding. Room was small, but not cracker box. Very clean
and the maids were excellent, which is why I tipped them daily. Cocktail
waitresses at the Queens very efficient and always available and drinks
were not watered down. Our casino host, Marty, was a great gal and took
care of all requests. Looking forward to return trip to the Four Queens. Gene
and Kathy G.
We were in Vegas for 10 days and ate
out twice a day. Hugo's Cellar was recommended by you as one of the
favorites so we made reservations. From the greeting to the seating to the
food was wonderful...and they top it off with a fresh red rose for lady
guests. Our waiter made our evening...great service, great food, and
atmosphere to compliment everything. Dr

After several trips to Vegas, the wife and I finally put
aside all the bad things we had heard about downtown (Fremont St.) and
went there. Much to our surprise, we had the best time we have ever had in
Vegas . The tables were much more relaxed, the dealers were much MUCH more
pleasant than the dealers on the Strip. We are not dummies and we know
that odds are that you are going to loose your money in Vegas, the point
of gambling is not just to win but to have fun period; win or loose.
Downtown Casinos, with the exception of the Nugget, made loosing my money
a blast. The hotel was a little dumpy, however if you calculate the time
we actually spent in the room, it amounts to less than 6 hours in a 24
hour time period. Trust me the only thing we were looking at after this
many hours of having fun was the back of our eyelids. So why dump a bunch
of money in a fancy room that you don't use. The food downtown was not as
lavish as on the Strip, however we were "comped" at every Casino
(except the Nugget) for our meals. When we later compared what we actually
ate as compared to the larger buffets, it was pretty much the same. In
short, on future trips, we'll still attend shows on the Strip, but were
giving the easy money to the Fremont Street Experience. Bryan

I would like to compliment and congratulate ART, president
of Las Vegas Cruising Association. This year marks his 23yrs of organizing
car shows in the Las Vegas area. I attended several, met nicest
people and was able to see the great accomplishments by the car owners!
Hats off to a great organizer bringing these great car creators together
for everyone to enjoy. Gary Waters
Assistance, yes. Thank you. This was the most helpful
sight in all of my search for travel and hotel accommodations in the last
3 days. Truly helpful. Thanks again. Dede

I recently returned from Las Vegas, within the month, and
stayed at the Imperial Palace as usual. I was there for my birthday. I
couldn't have been more pleased with the visit there. I won a few
jackpots, not large but good enough. I accumulated points on my player
card and won many prices in the form of dining and a free stay there at a
date of my choosing. The staff were most helpful and courteous, as they
always are. The room was free, for I had accumulated a large amount of
reward points and was always clean. I can't remember in fact when I have
had to pay for a room. I did pay for it in playing the machines but it is
great to be rewarded for doing so. Maybe I should not boast! Anyway, I
recommend the Imperial Palace to all new and repeat visitors to Las Vegas.
I believe all will be more than satisfied with their choice of the IP as
their Hotel/Casino. I am already planning for another return visit. Chuck

You have the real stuff. I made copies of coupons, we went
to places that we would like instead of wasting our time which is so short
on Vegas visits. thank you. Wallacercs
Hi Richard, Just wanted to let you know how thrilled (and that is
putting it mildly) I was to receive the two free tickets for the survey.
We will be in Vegas in March so are really looking forward to this
'treat'. Thank you again and also for all the great things you have on
your site - am 'passing the word along' to other Aussies going your way.
Cheers from down under, Sue Ellbourn
I commented before and it didn't appear. I just want to
reiterate that your information is a gold mine for first time visitors to
Vegas as well as for those who have been before. You have a fantastic
selection of categories of any topic that could be chosen to enhance any
visit there. Please continue to keep up the good work. Than you. Chuck

My husband and I went to Las Vegas for the first time in October of
2002.It has been something we have wanted to do for years and finally got a
chance to do it. We stayed at Circus Circus only because that was the only
motel I knew of at the time that wasn't going to cost me and arm and a leg.
It was very reasonable and a fairly nice place to stay, IF you have
transportation available. Boy did we live and learn a lesson there. We had
no transportation, didn't think we would need it. WRONG. There was not a bus
that wasn't full every time we needed one. We walked the strip and it took
us forever but we did it. Then we realized we actually had to get back to
Circus Circus and the same thing happened, all buses were full. We got a cab
and it costs $10.00 and it was the best $10.00 we have ever spent. Caution,
make sure you have some type of transportation. The slots were the
worst I have ever seen in my life. We played a slot machine or two in every
single motel along the strip and not one time did we ever get anything. It
was unbelievable and let me tell you those Indian Casinos were looking real
good by the time we left Vegas. As a matter of fact we drove to a casino
right here in Michigan and won $800.00!!!!A twenty dollar bill in a slot
machine in Vegas will be gone in twenty seconds!!! Stay away from them. Oh
sure you might win a little something but believe me that will be gone in no
time if you keep playing!! I would love to visit Vegas again in the
future in October because the weather is great that time of year. The
weather was picture perfect every day we were there. Can't complain about
that!!!!If you are going for the first time I would recommend seeing more
shows and sights and worry about the gambling part later, we regret not
seeing more and playing less. You can gamble anytime but how often do you
get to actually see the beautiful sights in Las Vegas? Jack
and Shelley Flint Michigan.
