As mentioned this week in the IVLV Newsletter, Tesla has selected Norther Nevada as the home for their new $5 billion battery plant. This week’s Reader Poll asks the question . . . How important do you think it is for Nevada to have been selected as the new Tesla battery plant in northern Nevada? Do you see any problems or potential problems with the state giving concessions to sway Tesla to build in Nevada? What is your opinion? We want to hear from you. (See other Readers’ opinions below.)

Reader Poll Replies:

For my two cents worth of an opinion I think it is good as long as the company stays in business and fulfills their comitments. Jeromy S. Dallas, TX

Another factory in Nevada is good, keeps all the reliance off gaming and gives more ways for people to find quality work. Eline Dobbs

I feel it is a good and bad thing. Good for the economy, bad if what the company promises does not come through. Often people make deals and they mean well but execute differently. Linda G. Phoenix, AZ

with the economy as it is today, any business that will bring work to the state is the good news. And because Tesla is becoming very popular car this will be a stable business for thew people of Reno. Polina Yerkhov Reseda, CA

I think we are on our way to more polluted water. Kenneth Flickstein Las Vegas

Fan-Tesla-stic, Nevada. With the battery plant in Reno, it will definitely boost the Reno economy and gaming. Unemployment is high in Reno with casinos decreasing jobs, so giving concessions to gain jobs is never problem in my mind. We need to increase employment everywhere and giving employees a more than fair wage helps everyone in Nevada with spill-off benefits. Gary Akizuki Richmond, BC Canada
