As mentioned in this week IVLV Newsletter, Tony Hsieh, the man behind the push to modernize and create a tech environment in downtown Las Vegas is getting serious adverse publicity as his company is doing some reorganizing. This week’s Reader Poll asks the question, do you feel Las Vegas is better off with some of the downtown improvements over the past three years or is this another attempt at some wealthy person getting sweetheart deals from city and state government entities? What is your opinion? We want to hear from you. (See other Readers’ opinions below.)

tony hsieh and downtown las vegas future.

Reader Poll Replies:

My opinion is simple, i dont go downtown, so it really doesnt matter what he does. For that matter i dont buy zappos shoes either. Karen Las Vegas, NV

I think i t is great for anyone to help develop a city. It is a shame when everyone is on a band wagon when things are going go and now with a few problems he becomes the fall guy. What a shame. Darryl S.

It does not make any difference to me about downtown, I have lived in Vegas for 11 years and only been downtown twice. Mark A.Nevada

Makes no diffference to me, i come to vegas to gamble. Carla D.

Introduction of a technical environment would be a most welcome diversification to the typical Las Vegas "entertainment" razzle-dazzle. For example, look at the cultural success of the Smith Center program. Also, the Brain Research center has introduced a significant technical aspect to our city! Your derogatory lead in question refers to a person's financial success. Hsieh's willingness to invest his money to upgrade the technical level of our city deserves to be commended! ken arasim henderson, nv

does not affect me. ron s. seattle

Although all of the recent "upgrades" to downtown cannot be attributed to Tony Hsieh, as a whole I would think they are positive (please tear down Slotzilla). What will happen to all of the projects if he pulls out? Howard Indpls/ IN
