As stated in this weeks IVLV Newsletter, the $5 billion Las Vegas Alon project has come up short on financing and the project is put on indefinite hold. This weeks Reader Poll aks the question what should be done with another (Fontainebleau Casino) partially constructed casino project on the Strip? What is your opinion? We want to hear from you. (See other Readers’ opinions below.)

Las vegas has another casino project run out of money and remains partially built, what do you think about this..

Reader Poll Replies:

Having another partially finished hotel on the strip is not an asset to Las Vegas. Maybe the other casinos owners could pool money to finish these eye soars. David Little Las Vegas, NV

Trying to fund a $5 billion dollar project in this economy is crazy, no wonder it failed. Nothing to do but wait until a stronger market comes along and someone with a large amount of nerve steps up and buys the property. Lynn Harris Tucson, AZ

It seems Atlantic City and vegas are both in trouble with having casinos stay open or get finished. Nothing you can force an owner to do if they run out of money. Maybe some kind of tax break to help the owner finish might be in order? Daniel Ford Ogdon, UT

I think this is just a sign of times. Unfinished projects everywhere including casinos. Nothing to do. Learn to live with it. Robert Hines, Canada
