Reader Poll Replies: * I
feel that is a fair price to pay to be safer in today's society with all
the crazy people running around this country. Going to Vegas and
feeling safe is a good feeling. Ann D. NY
* Do you think Las Vegas has
enough Police patrolling the city? What police, Las Vegas has police? Sandi
Kowalski
* Police? Never seen any.
Even when you need one, can't find it (SORRY, him, her...) Polina

* As a young, single woman
who has vacationed in Vegas a few times during the last couple of years,
I never once felt unsafe or a lack of police supervision. I actually
found Vegas to be one of the safest places I have ever visited. Although
I do not necessarily think there is a need for more policemen, I would
have no objection if sales tax was raised 1/4 of a percent since it is
such an insignificant increase and would not cause me to not shop. E.W.

* I never have had the occasion to
need a policeman in Las Vegas, maybe that tells me a lot right there.
I am all for more security in these terrorist times. A 1/4 of a
percent seems extremely fair. Howard D. TX
* Since you are only talking
about a .0025 raise that seems like a very small price to pay for
additional security to a city that is 24 hours. Gina Towers

* Being a foreigner and
traveling to Las Vegas twice a year I enjoy seeing the police,
especially the ones on bicycles patrolling the area. To increase
only 1/4 of a percent to get more secure feeling is a very reasonable
price to pay. Angela T. London
