Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type
#1. On
October 2, 2000, they will implode the old El Rancho Casino/Hotel. Are you
in favor of imploding this 48-year-old Las Vegas landmark or would you
like to see someone fix it up and operate a nostalgia type casino? Why or
Why Not?
* It's about time
the North end tries to catch up to the South end. Blow that sucker
up!!!!!!!!! Arnold Gutierrez *
I would like to see
someone refurbish the El Rancho Casino/Hotel. Las Vegas has changed so
much within the past twenty years. It would be nice to have a hotel
landmark which operates as a nostalgia type casino. Thanks, Chochynadl
* My friends and I
have been calling the old El Rancho "the fence" for the last
several years. The place is an eyesore and it is time to tear it down.
Personally I never cared for it when it was in its hayday.

Fix it up!! I recently visited the new Aladdin and was unimpressed. It is
now just another expensive sprawling hotel with shops. I have started
going downtown more because it is the old Las Vegas. Good casinos that pay
out! I love Westward Ho and the Stardust too. I hate to see Vegas turn
into Disney World. I wish someone would fix up the Old Rancho just like it
used to be!

NO. Does Vegas want to destroy all of its Historical sites. rvegas
* Of course
implode it. It should of been done long ago. The north end of the strip
will be the new "hot spot" in 5 to 10 years with the new Desert
Inn and the rebuilding of the Frontier area. El Rancho has been an eyesore
for a long time. Benny Low *
I like keeping some of the older parts of Las Vegas in tact. New is
good but sometimes history is nice to look at also. Betty M.
