Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type

#1.  On November 15, 2001 the new Palms Casino opened.  Do you think Las Vegas needed another casino?  Why or Why Not?

* Another casino is good competition that the customers always should benefit from in the long run, and also does create even more jobs for the residents or even new residents to make your city bigger and better. So YES , I think its marvelous another casino has arrived. It will wake up a few of the others also who just were reaping benefits and doing nothing to make their own establishments any better. Donald Mann

*  Yes, because Vegas is growing and can always use the competition and diversity. Toby Orcutt

*  As a recent visitor to the great city of Las Vegas I can't say enough about it. I saw the new palms casino but I really wasn't impressed. it is a very ugly building in my option. as far as new casinos go I just don't see how they all survive with all the competition that is there. Leighan   Clearwater FL

*  Hi. It's been three years now since I have been there. Yes it's o.k. change is always good and competition is good.  Geraldine Beikman  Linn, Kansas

*  No need for another casino in Las Vegas.  Maybe instead of a new casino a moratorium should be placed on building so these so-called mega resorts do not fire any persons under the disguise of September 11 slow down in business.  Ann NV

*  Las Vegas can always use a new casino.  It seems that ever time a new casino opens the skeptics talk about Las Vegas being over built and yet the new casino seems to work.  Gloria  TX

*  I hope this new casino has the player in mind, not just the bottom line. Glen   Chicago

*  I like the idea of a new casino.  It may make the existing casino start to take better care of their existing players.  Seems like casinos around the world make it so hard to win.  I realize it is their business for the house to win, but sometimes you like the thrill of the possibility of winning to exist before all your money is sucked away.  HW.  Colorado.
