Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type
#1. What is the best lounge act you
have ever seen in Las Vegas? Please name the entertainment, the
casino where you saw them perform and the approximate date.
(This is best lounge show, next
week's Reader Poll will ask for best Showroom act.)
* The best lounge
acts were at the old "French Quarter" in the 4 Queens downtown.
These were free (2 drink minimum) shows. BJ Thomas and Doug Kershaw were
two of the best I saw there. I wish the 4 Queens would bring the lounge
back into operation. Larry Furnace
* Last time in was
in Vegas we saw these really great lounge shows at the Orleans
Casino. Very nice group, played for hours and it was free.

* Got free tickets
(on the internet) to Viva Las Vegas and saw it last Thursday, March 2nd.
The Elvis impersonator was so funny! We enjoyed the whole show. Also
saw some afternoon shows at MGM casino, they were excellent! S.P. Ashaway

* I like the live
music at the daytime Gold Coast lounge. Marge, IL
* I think it was
about 1977 my wife and I had been married for 2 years. This was our first
trip to Vegas. We forget what Casino we were in but Kenny Rogers was
playing in the lounge. My wife and I just stood around and listen for a
long time for free. I think he just broke up with the First Edition. I
couldn't help thinking, this guy is going to be big.. Anyway we have been
back many times since and no other lounge act has topped that one. Goerge

* Best
without a doubt Buddy Greco free in Club Madrid Sunset Station August
1999. He must have been doing it to settle a score with the Desert Inn as
he made a number of comments about the management of the DI during the
show. He was SUPERB. The first time I have seen him but certainly not the
