Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type
#1. Las Vegas has become not only
the gambling capital of the world but also a destination resort.
Many day and overnight tours are available throughout Las Vegas and the
surrounding areas. This weeks question has two parts.
A.) When you visit Las Vegas
have you taken any day trips to see the sights around the city?
B.) Would you like to take
any day or overnight trips to the surrounding sightseeing areas?
* Last time in Las
Vegas was the first time I took a one day trip to Grand Canyon, WOW.
Thanks was exciting. I cannot believe I have been coming to Vegas
from the East coast for 20 years and never ventured on any trips. I
saw more in one day at the Grand Canyon than I thought possible.

* Looking forward
to my first trip to Vegas in June, thanks for the help with the rental car
and hotel room, wish you had a travel special for one day tours.

* When I plan a
stay in Las Vegas, I also plan for a rental car. The car is reasonable
especially when you consider the cost of cabs and tour bus routines. I
usually take a couple of trips to surrounding sights such as Red Rock,
Valley of Fire, Bonnie Springs, Cheyenne Mountain, the Dam, visit various
casinos in and around Vegas, or just a drive in the desert. There are many
museums and other attractions that provide a pleasant break from the
action at the tables. HBHWANGO
* In 6-7 trips to
Vegas, my wife and I have taken numerous day trips to surrounding areas;
e.g., Lake Mead, the "dam" tour, desert areas, etc. We found
these day trips quite enjoyable and a break in our routine of gambling,
shows and dining. We have yet to take a tour around the city itself as we
love to explore on our own. Yet, we have discussed this type of tour to
better acquaint us with the areas of the city away from the strip; i.e.,
get to know the greater Las Vegas area to see where some local casinos are
before visiting them. Jim Mercik
* Never seem to
have enough time to get to the day tours, would love to but busy
gambling. Donna. NY
* Every trip
to Las Vegas I allow myself the luxury of taking one day trip to the
surrounding landmarks. So far I have seen the Grand Canyon, Red
Rock, Bryce Canyon, Stateline, Pahrump, and Laughlin. These gorgeous
landmarks are breath taking and I will enjoy the memories of these trips
for years. I cannot wait to come back to Las Vegas, gamble and see
more sights. Connie W. Illinois
