Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type
#1. Las Vegas is one of the few
places on earth that you can still see famous people walking among us
normal humans. What famous person(s) have you seen in Las Vegas? This
does not mean what shows have you attended, but what famous movie stars,
athletes, elected officials, models, etc., have you seen in everyday life
in Las Vegas?
* I was lucky enough to
see many famous athletes at the recent awards program at the MGM
Grand. Wayne Torrison
* I was staying at
Harrah's when the Sands was imploded for the movie 'Con Air.' Quite a
sight as our room faced the pile of rubble that was the Sands. We
also just happened to be in Las Vegas when the movie debuted and while
walking down the strip a whole parade of HumVees went by with Nicolas Cage
and the other major actors in the movie in them Quite a coincidence.

* I have seen Red
Buttons, Debbie Reynolds and Paul Anka, and I think it is a wonderful to
be able to offer opinions and experiences on Vegas in the newsletter .
Thank you. Jane Fitzgerald
* Believe it or
not, years ago when the union plaza was first built at the end of downtown
I stayed there and the cast of Gilligan's Island was staying there also.
Bob Denver Alan Hale Jr. etc. Gerard's
* Wayne Newton in
the Copa Room at the Sands taking in the show like a regular human! also
last August Jackie Mason was in the booth next to us at the MGM watching
Wayne Newton perform. He was very gracious to fans who approached him for
autographs. Elaine Brotchie England UK
* Hi there!
I'm not sure if this qualifies, but the last time we flew to Las Vegas
(Fall 99) my kids thought that a certain young lady on the plane looked
familiar. Sure enough, as we got off our Chicago flight there was a limo
driver holding a sign: Christina Agulliar (spelling?) The Haka Family,
