Question in black type - Answer from our Readers in blue type
#1. Professional Sports in Las Vegas. Once again Las Vegas gears up for a new Professional
Sports Team (New Football League) to begin season February 2001. If you
are a visitor to the city or live in Las Vegas would you attend these
sporting events or does Las Vegas have other attractions that attract your
interest. Why or Why not?
* We
do not live in Las Vegas and when we visit we try to take in a couple
featured shows. If the sports events being shown are not of the highest
caliber then forget it. There are other ways to spend ones money in your
city. Give the secondary market to the smaller cities that can't support a
major team. Actually, we find that Las Vegas is becoming more
expensive every time we visit and could not afford to attend a football or
basketball game at the prices they are asking these days. We would have to
omit the shows to attend sports events. We'd love to visit during the
National Finals Rodeo but hear that the tickets are soooooo expensive it's
priced out of our budget. Karen V Bujnoski
* I like living in
Las Vegas and it would be great to have an NBA or NFL team, but until then
I guess we will settle for whatever they serve us. I will be attending the
new football teams home games this coming year. Jimmy G. NV
* I like sports
but why not leave that type of entertainment to cities that do not have
gambling. Ellen T. IL *
When Las Vegas had a professional ice hockey team I went a couple times
but it was so much less than the NHL that is was a bad representation of
the sport. I understand that not every city can have a NHL, NBA or
baseball teams but to keep trying to fill Las Vegas with lower level teams
in the lower caliber leagues is an insult to the greatest Las Vegas has
built. Why go to a billion dollar casino and eat with plastic
silverware. Why go to Las Vegas and see a second rate league
team? David S. CA. *
When I come to Las Vegas I may watch some sporting events, even bet on
them but not interested in going to any sporting events. I went to
boxing matches years ago, but the price of a good ticket is so expensive
that I stopped that also. Mel T. NY
