Reader Poll Replies:

I think it is a shame that old las vegsa is disappearing so quickly.  Joan Silvers

My thought would be to have someone restore the building, but not sure how you compete with the billion dollar giant casinos.   Roger D. Texas

My friends and I are going to miss this place. We make an annual trip here just to stay and play $1 BJ here. It will truly be missed.  Andrew  Surprise, AZ

Will hate to see them close the Sahara.  I have had many years of fun times there, seems like someone would like to buy it and continue runnnig it.  Walt   Austin TX

In my opinion it was one of the greats in it's day. Hate to see it close.  jerry North Myrtle Beach SC

Deeply saddened. This is a vegas icon and should be perserved. There are few remaining old casinos and with the new era of family friendly casinos Vegas needs to get back to a few of the old style, rip roaring, good ole adult casinos. While family friendly is fine, not all
visitors want to have a bunch of children around all the time, some like the adult content. Keep it.  Elizabeth LaZella  Gold Bar Washington

Sorry to see another historical place in las vegas fall to the plastic billion dollar casinos they have built in recent years.  You can keep the Cosmo and all the other socalled hype casinos, give me a Sahara any day.   George  West Palm Beach FL

Personally i am sorry to see such a great landmark disappear in the lights of las vegas.  Hopefully someone else feels the same as i and spends the time and money to keep the casino going.   Vinnie K  Washington DC

Tear it and down and make a new one, isnt that the Vegas way.  Beverly Chicago IL
