While talking with one of the largest casino’s entertainment director this week they asked a question that will be this week’s Reader Poll question. How important is live entertainment lounge in a casino? Should live entertainment be nightly, for how long and should there be a cost? What is your opinion? We want to hear from you!

Reader Poll Replies:

My best experiences have started at a lounge and the live entertainment is a great plus.  I really like the music and enjoy just sitting back and forgetting all my troubles.  Keep the live entertainment.  Roger Wilson  TX

I prefer listening to groups and sitting in a lounge rather than going to the expensive showrooms.  Sitting around with friends or making new friends is fun.  Helen L.

After having frequented Las Vegas I humbly submit my opinion. Live entertainment lounges are essential and should run for at least three hours every evening. I would not mind paying a small cover charge to see the act.  Diane Wilson

Its not important to me at all. In Vegas there is so much entertainment, if someone doesn't like what they have, they can move on.It should be nightly because the people who fly drive to Vegas, change every day. new ones come in daily and others leave daily. It should be free to get them into your place. As for how long? How long do you want
the guest comeing in.If I'm out at the slots, and we decide we want to get away for a bit. We go for a drank. No music we go to a different casino.  Steve  sedalia,mo

Lounge entertainment is important to me and my wife.  We like relaxing with a drink or two and listening to some good music and best of all each casino has a different type of group playing.    Clarence J   FL

Keep the live music, it is the best and we really enjoy spending time in those lounges.  Charge a small fee, that is ok, but keep the live music.   TT.  Chicago IL

Live entertainment is always a plus as it adds life and memory to the establishment being visited. Free live entertainment should probably be saved for Friday and Saturday nights, or other high traffic dates if offering for free. Maybe consider a Small fee if offering nightly to cover the cost of the entertainers but don't charge enough to make people fee as if you are trying to earn a profit from them.  Martin Huddleston  Farmington, NM

I really enjoy live music while I gamble nearby. I rarely actually sit in the lounge itself, but it really enhances the Las Vegas feel to my evenings. I like it every night.  Michael Payne  Woodstock GA

Keep the live music, get rid of the  annoying people handing smut on the streets and the news stands filled with chezzzy advertisements.   Ron  (HJ)   Tulsa

Live entertainment is good if not so loud that it annoys the players. This happens and we just leave so we can hear ourselves think.  Barbara Knick  Normal

My personal opinion is that the live entertainment has always been important to me. I go to LV 3 times a year and although I love my slots its nice to take a break. The casino chain I to offers this which is why I stay there and would probably wander off somewhere else if they didn't.Doing so, they have my loyalty and at the same time I build up my
comps so everyone is happy.  Janis Butcher  British  Columbia Canada
