Born Retro - Henry Prego
Born in New York City and singing professionally since age 14,
Henry Prego has a confident vocal style reminiscent of the
swinging romantic ballad singers, and easily captivates his
audiences with a debonair sophistication, style and charm all
his own. His performance credits include many top New York
clubs, such as Birdland, Iridium, Judy's, Five Spot, Village
Gate, Rainbow Room and Supper Club.
Henry relocated to the Los Angeles area where he has performed
his tribute to Sinatra at many private charity events, parties
and corporate functions, for clients including the American
Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, King World
Enterprise, Cedar Sinai Hospital (Coaches For Kids) honoring Mr.
Larry King, Mission Hills CC (Palm Springs) honoring Mr. Bill
Gates, Stan Kenton alumni orchestra Irvine, Ca. and many others
throughout the country.
After releasing a CD titled "This Love of Mine", Henry appeared
on CBS This Morning discussing the resurgence of swing music. He
also performed on Japanese television for a special on American
jazz, taped at the Village Gate in New York City, before taking
his act to Cannes, France. Upon returning from Europe, Henry
made Las Vegas his new home.
Henry Prego not only sounds like the Chairman of the Board, his
looks and movements as the man many consider the best
interpreter of song in the last century, are amazingly accurate.
Surprisingly, it was The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and other rockers
of the era that Henry grew up listening to. It wasn't until
years later that the young vocalist, who also plays guitar and
bass, discovered the romantic balladeers of the 20th Century and
decided that was the kind of music he wanted to perform.
His natural ability to sing Sinatra-style, along with his
perfected mannerisms and physical resemblance, makes Henry Prego
a must-see! |
