The following are the winning hands of poker, ranked highest to the lowest in
descending order.
Royal Flush
A-K-Q-J-10
A,K,Q,J, and 10 of the same suit.
Straight Flush
J-10-9-8-7
Five cards in sequence of the same suit.
Four of a Kind
J-J-J-J-5
Four
cards of the same rank.
Full House
6-6-6-Q-Q
Three of a kind, plus a pair.
Flush
J-8-5-3-2
Five
cards of the same suit.
Straight
8-7-6-5-4
Five
cards in sequence. (Ace can be high or low.)
Three
of a Kind
7-7-7-J-A
Three
cards of the same rank.
Two
Pair
Q-Q-9-9-2
Two
cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.
One
Pair
5-5-2-A-Q
Two
cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.
If players have an
identical combination, the player with the highest card has the winning hand.
For example, both have a pair of 9, the highest single card is a eight,
if the other player has a ten, his poker hand is better and he wins.
Each player will use five cards for their hand.
The player with the highest hand is the winner. A sixth card is never used to break a tie.
