Hello from Michele...
It is a pleasure hearing from so many avid
readers of Insider Viewpoint of Las Vegas. I enjoy answering all
the emails and look forward to the interesting questions. Below, I
have selected a few examples of this weeks questions, I hope you enjoy
reading them. Do you have any questions you would

I want to know about major boxing matches that
are held in Las Vegas. My question is, if you pay the money they want for a
ticket, are there many movie stars and famous people who attend these
events. My two girlfriends and I want to see the famous people and maybe
mingle with them, is that possible? Vickie T Oregon. |

|
Simply stated, yes you can see many movie stars,
famous people, prominent athletes and other notables who attend the boxing
matches in Las Vegas. The bigger the boxing names are, the bigger the crowd
of celebrities. As far as mingling with them before, during or after that is
a little more difficult. Often famous people have their own security and
being able to walk up and talk to them in the casino is not easy sometimes.
Celebrity person watching is very popular in Las Vegas and on any weekend
you can see dozens of the celebrities throughout the various casinos. |

How far in advance should I book my reservations for New Years? I want to
make sure I get exactly the room I want and see the shows I have heard so
much about. This will be my first time visiting Las Vegas and I want to do
it right. Wayne K. San Francisco, CA |

|
Wayne with a city that has more than 3,000,000 people a month visiting, I
think the sooner the better is the rule of thumb for booking reservations.
As you can imagine, New Years and Super Bowl are the two most popular
weekends in Las Vegas. Shows may or may not be available to book that far in
advance, but your hotel room can be made. Have a great time and you will
enjoy Vegas especially at New Years.

I will be visiting Las Vegas in a few weeks and I would like to know the
most popular places to hear country western music. Can you stir me in the
right direction? Andy Smith Texas |

|
Andy thanks for the question and you will probably end up in one of two
places to enjoy country music in Las Vegas. My two choices would be either
Toby Keith’s, inside the Harrah’s Casino, or Stoney's Rockin' Country, the
largest free standing nightclub in Las Vegas, 20,000 square feet. The
western nightlife happening is just north of the South Point Casino at 9155
S. Las Vegas Blvd. As a backup plan you might also want to check out Dylans
and Coyote Ugly. |

When do the pool parties begin at the major casinos? I went to Hard Rock a
couple years ago and had a blast. Now they tell me several casinos have pool
parties each week, is that true? Melinda Sawyer California |

|
Yes, summer is almost upon us and the pool parties start opening at the end
of April and the first week of May. You have several to choose from, such
as, Hard Rock, Tao, Caesars, Palms, Mandalay Bay to name just a few. Have a
great time and be sure to use a sun block, this is the desert you know.
